The situation of the army and the security needs

​"A unified nation is a precondition for a fighting nation"

Four years after writing about "The Army's organization and roles" and before his retirement to Sde Boker, in a government meeting of October 18, 1953, Ben Gurion reviewed broadly the situation of the army and the security needs.

In the abstracts of the review, presented here, Ben Gurion reiterated the need to inculcate the soldiers with the Jewish culture and love of the motherland, and to erase all communal segregation. "A unified nation is a precondition for a fighting nation," he summarized.
