The Savoy Hotel Attack (March 5-6, 1975)

​​The Savoy Hotel attack was a terrorist attack by members of the Palestine Liberation Organization against the Savoy Hotel in Tel Aviv, Israel, on 4–5 March 1975. Eight PLO terrorist disembarked from a boat on Tel-Aviv's beach, occupied the Savoy Hotel nearby, and took the guests as hostages.

Early the next morning, the Israeli counterterrorism unit Sayeret Matkal stormed the hotel, killing seven of the perpetrators and capturing the eighth. One Sayeret Matkal officer, Colonel Uzi Yairi, was also killed. Five hostages were freed, while five were killed.
