It is 1954, Israel is six years old, and the IDF is taking some time off between training the troops. With the advent of the Purim festival, in an IDF base, somewhere in the country, the troops are hosting children, parading, participating in mock sport competitions and dance in costume balls.
The IDF is proud to open to the public for the first time a selection of photographs published by BaMmahaneh, the former IDF's magazine, in April 1, 1954. The texts are by David Mushaiov, the photographs by Assaf Kutin and Abraham Vered.
