Post War

Warfare ended by the evening of June 10, with Israel occupying the Sinai Peninsula and the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and the Golan Heights. The victory was fast and impressive. On June 11, at the Governmental meeting, the Chief of Staff described the disaster suffered by the Arab states in the following words: "One may say that the major part of the Egyptian army, a considerable part of the Jordanian army and its armored units, and at least half of the Syrian army – were defeated."

On July 24, the assistant Minister of Defense, Zvi Zur, announced the Prime Minister gave his blessing to naming the war: The Six Day War.
