Operation "Peace for Galilee" or First Lebanon War​​​

Operation "Peace for Galilee" or First Lebanon War, broke out on June 6, 1982, between Israel and a coalition of Syria and Palestinian terror organizations in Lebanon. The war, whose original aim was the destruction of terror organizations' infrastructures in Southern Lebanon, broadened beyond its declared aims, reaching as far as Beirut. 353 soldiers lost their lives in the warfare.
