The Six Day War
June 5 – June 10, 1967. The first act of the war a devastating strike by the Israeli Air Force on the air forces of Egypt, Syria, Jordan, and Iraq. During the war Israel occupied the Gaza Strip, the Sinai Peninsula, the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and the Golan Heights. 736 soldiers lost their lives in the war, and 2,500 were injured.
